Isotope derivative analysis for proline, valine, methionine, and phenylalanine.

چکیده
The development of the isotope derivative method of amino acid analysis and its application to the determination of aspartic and glutamic acids, serine, threonine, and hydroxyproline in protein hydrolysates has been described (1). In order to extend the method and to make possible the identification of the amino end-groups of proteins we have modified the procedure to include glycine and alanine. We have also developed fractionation procedures which permit the quantitative determination of proline, methionine, phenylalanine, and valine by the isotope derivative method in protein hydrolysates.

Screening of Amino Acids on the Growth of Microsporum Canis and Histoplasma Capsulatum
Amino acids are the important nitrogenous components responsible for the growth and reproduction of fungi. During this study 10 grams of each amino acids were added into 50ml of sabourd dextrose (SD) liquid media. Later on they were inoculated with isolated dermatophytic fungi ie Microsporum canis and Histoplasma capsulatum and incubated at 25±1oc for 15 days. After 15 days grown fungal were me...

The dissociation constants of the amino acids determined are; alanine (10.29), arginine (12.02), asparagine (9.39), glycine (9.87), histidine (7.01), lysine (9.28), methionine (9.68), phenylalanine (9.61), proline (10.53), threonine (10.31), tryptophan (9.77), and valine (10.28). The ratio of metal to amino acid determined for the complexes is 1:3, except for Cu ...
متن کاملCytochrome b shows signs of adaptive protein evolution in Gerbillus species from Egypt
Background: Amino acid polymorphisms in the mitochondrial cytochrome b (cytb) gene of four Gerbillus species have been investigated for their geographical distribution and possible functional significance. The sequences were obtained from a total of 20 specimens representing four species of genus Gerbillus collected from Siwa Oasis, Dabaa, Wadi El Natron, El Faiyum, and Baltim in Egypt. Results...
متن کاملChemotaxis toward amino acids in Escherichia coli.
Escherichia coli cells are shown to be attracted to the l-amino acids alanine, asparagine, aspartate, cysteine, glutamate, glycine, methionine, serine, and threonine, but not to arginine, cystine, glutamine, histidine, isoleucine, leucine, lysine, phenylalanine, tryptophan, tyrosine, or valine. Bacteria grown in a proline-containing medium were, in addition, attracted to proline. Chemotaxis tow...
متن کاملAnalysis of Amadori compounds by high-performance cation exchange chromatography coupled to tandem mass spectrometry.
High-performance cation exchange chromatography coupled to tandem mass spectrometry or electrochemical detection was found to be an efficient tool for analyzing Amadori compounds derived from hexose and pentose sugars. The method allows rapid separation and identification of Amadori compounds, while benefiting from the well-known advantages of mass spectrometry, such as specificity and sensitiv...
